NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Rockefeller Asset Management, a division of Rockefeller Capital Management, was awarded the prestigious Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Research Report of the Year award for its report, Applying Scenario Analysis to Actively Managed Strategies, which analyzes climate-related risks and opportunities within investment portfolios. Rockefeller was the only U.S. investment manager nominated for the award. The research report originated from the Firm’s participation in the UN Environment Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) where Rockefeller Asset Management worked in tandem with 20 global asset managers and asset owners on the pilot project aimed to guide investors on reporting along the Task Force for Climate Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations using scenario-based methods for climate risk assessment.
“As the sole U.S.-based asset manager to have participated in the UNEP FI working group, as well as the sole U.S.-based asset manager to have been shortlisted for the PRI award, I am pleased to see our investment team’s pioneering work gain recognition in a field historically led by international organizations,” said Casey Clark, Managing Director, Director of ESG Research and Engagement at Rockefeller Asset Management. “Moreover, as new entrants into ESG grow daily, we are delighted to be recognized as a long-standing thought leader, seeking to generate excess returns and elevate ESG standards globally through ESG-integrated research and shareholder engagement.”
The award underlines Rockefeller’s commitment to ESG investing that dates back to the 1970s, when several of the Firm’s patrons contended that investment decisions have environmental, social and financial dimensions.
